A SMALL CHAIN. A BIG DIFFERENCE.
A home for
every crab.
One empty shell can change the whole beach.
Make room, pass it on, bring everyone home.
First footsteps
Three neighbors. One spare shell. A little kindness goes a long way.
The shell exchange
Select a crab, then an empty shell. A crab fits its own size or one size bigger. The shell it leaves becomes available to someone else.
Bring every crab to its matching named home. The small portrait below each shell shows who belongs there. Resting shells can hold anyone who fits. Moves are unlimited; try to match the shortest route.
Keyboard: Tab between shells; Enter or Space selects or moves. U undoes, H gives a hint, R resets. On a phone, tap a crab and then a vacant shell.
EVERYONE IS HOME
A good tide for all.
Little exchanges, living shores
An original puzzle inspired by hermit-crab vacancy chains and the 2026 ISEF project “3D Design for Hermit Crab Shells.” These are playful rules, not an ecological simulation.
Static-page scaffold: Google web-game-samples (Apache-2.0). All puzzle logic, levels and interface are original. Crab portraits created with a GPT image model and bundled locally. No account or network is needed to play.
